Starr Labs Mini-ZXS Controller with Joystick, String Triggers and Breath controller input

This is perhaps the one of the weirdest things we got in here at Coconut Grove Music. Is it a guitar? A keyboard? A MIDI controller? A desert topping? It's all of those (well, maybe not a desert topping) and more.

This is the Starr Labs Mini-ZXS controller. This lets a lowly guitarist become a master synthesist. Hook this baby via MIDI into a sound source and you can play it like a guitar, or a keyboard. You can finger chords and strum it or do two-hand tapping ala Eddie Van Halen, or play it kind of like a keyboard. You can even set the tuning up like a Chapman Stick and play it like that. Plug in a breath controller in one of the ports for even more fun.

The Mini-ZXS are hand-made, built-to-order in California, with a large array of options. This particular one has these options: joystick controller, input jack for a breath controller and string triggers. The best part is that you don't have to wait months for one to be made for you. This can be at your door in days.

The basic model sells for $1795 new and does not come with the options mentioned above. This one is barely used and seems to function as it should, although we don't have a breath controller to try and are not experts on the Mini-ZXS. We hooked it up to a MIDI keyboard and all the switches and strings seem to work as expected.

This comes with all you see here: 2 combo power & MIDI interface (PB-1, PB-2), and 2 MIDI cables. PB-2 lets you use some kind of batteries, I think. You'll have to do some research on that.
